From Bookkeeper to Financial Missionkeeper

I’ve built my business around one question: How could I deliver greater value for my clients?

One ordinary morning, coffee in hand settling into my usual routine, a simple thought interrupted me:

“What if I stopped thinking of myself as a bookkeeper, and started serving my clients as a financial Missionkeeper?”

I loved the thought the moment it landed. What I did not have was any idea how to deliver on it.

For years, I'd been helping business owners reconcile accounts, organize financials, and produce reports. Those responsibilities are important– they keep businesses compliant and provide a solid financial foundation. But I found myself wondering if this was all I could do. I started asking– How can my work create greater value directly for my client, the business owner?

I noticed that what mattered to my clients was what those numbers were making possible.

Every business owner I work with has a mission.

Some wanted to create jobs in their community. Some are building a legacy for their family. Others are leading their industry by providing excellence in serving their customers.

The bookkeeping wasn't the mission— but it could be an essential tool that helped them accomplish their mission.

That realization changed how I viewed my work.

I no longer wanted to simply keep-books. I wanted to help keep businesses on mission. So, in true small business fashion, I fired myself as Bookkeeper and hired myself the next day as Missionkeeper.

That shift transformed how I serve my clients today and is the foundation of how Missionkeeping Accounting operates.

Accurate, timely bookkeeping is where we begin. But understanding your goals, helping you interpret your numbers, celebrating milestones, identifying opportunities, and thinking strategically alongside you—that's the real value we deliver.

Because your financial statements aren't the destination, we use them as the roadmap that helps you accomplish the mission that inspired you to build your business in the first place.

This is why you’ll hear us say…
Missionkeeping Accounting: where your mission meets financial clarity.
